01
Why is kosher certification in China harder than elsewhere?
The difficulty is usually not the kosher rules themselves. It is everything around them: Chinese suppliers, documents in Chinese, local regulations and the way factories actually work.
Many agencies, including large ones, do not specialize in China. Without a Chinese-speaking team on the ground, they struggle with local suppliers, documents and regulations, and projects stall. Our office team speaks Chinese and has worked in China for more than 20 years. We know where the problems are, and we solve them.

02
How does a factory in China get kosher certified?
- 1
Send the product list
Products, ingredients and the supplier of each ingredient.
- 2
Ingredient review
Every raw material needs a kosher certificate that the certifying agency recognizes. This is where most projects are decided.
- 3
Plant check
A mashgiach visits the plant, the lines and the storage, and sets what has to be kashered or separated.
- 4
Kashering and production
If a line also runs non-kosher products, it is kashered first. Depending on the product and the agency, a mashgiach is present for the whole run or visits during it.
- 5
Report and certificate
Depending on the project, the certificate is issued by the kosher agency the importer works with, or by us.
03
How long does it take?
That assumes the factory cooperates and the raw materials already carry recognized certificates. The most common cause of delay is an ingredient without a recognized certificate, discovered late.
04
How much does kosher certification cost in China?
There is no single price. These are the five factors that change it:
Full-time supervision or visits
Whether a mashgiach must be present for the whole run or only checks in.
Production days and location
How many days on site, and how far the plant is (travel and lodging).
Kashering lines and equipment
Needed when the same line also runs non-kosher products.
Kosher level and number of products
For example mehadrin or Passover requirements.
Raw materials
How many are involved, and whether they are already approved.
Send us your product list and we will tell you what applies to your plant.
05
The two mistakes that cost the most
Ingredients without a recognized kosher certificate
Often found only at the plant, when it is too late to replace them before the production date.
Calling too late
A few days before production leaves no time to check raw materials or arrange kashering.
06
What if a raw material is not approved?
This is the most common problem, and it does not have to stop production. We help the factory find an approved alternative supplier, or visit the raw material plant ourselves to check it. Our goal is that the importer gets the product made at the kosher level they need, as fast as possible.

07
Which kosher agency should we use?
The importer or brand usually decides, based on the market they sell to. We are not tied to a single agency. We work on the ground in China on behalf of the agencies that importers and brands already use, so the plant does not have to start over with each new buyer.
08
